Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer, and songwriter for many years. Her family was home-schooled by her mother, and her father, in USA. Raised with racial taunts and felt unloved. In her 9th grade that she gained confidence after being highly praised in an audition. This not only increased her confidence, but it was also a change in the direction she pursued in her career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and The You've Got Mail film. The biggest success of her career came with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by critics. Following that she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. Additionally, she works as an LGBT activist.
